All together for the exchange of electrons in a re-try response to deliver an electric flow and be helpful, the electrons are made to go through an outside electrically leading wire as opposed to being legitimately moved between the oxidation and decreasing operators. A salt extension must be utilized to keep away from advancement of the anodes by encouraging the course of particles from electrolyte. Every terminal is associated with the voltmeter by clasps and wires. The voltmeter gauges the voltage produced by the re-try response. We have found that offering such comprehensive introductions means that little mystery is left for the body of the essay, and the writer thus risks losing the readerâs interest entirely. The following paragraph, which is the introduction to a candidates essay on âhis/her impact on a group and what he/she learned from the experience,â is basically a series of stylistic errorsâ"one of the most egregious of which is eliminating the mystery: âMy most crucial task this past year was managing a project in collaboration with Oracle to develop a $10.5 million integrated database system for large clothing retailers. I led a 26-member team from my firm, ABC Technology, and Oracle to establish the design, monitor the systems and train new members to manage the completed project. I also evaluated security risks, managed budgetary needs and developed quality assurance testing plans to meet Oracle and retailer specifications. I faced many challenges while working with culturally and geographically diverse teams, but overcame these challenges through unique team-building exercises and my own effective leadership and completed the project on time.â In this poorly written paragraph, the reader does not receive merely an introduction to the significant issues, but rather an abbreviated version of the entire story. By the end of this paragraph, the reader knows not only what all of the technical and human resource issues were but also that they were ultimately overcome and that the project was delivered on time. What is left for the reader to discover? By ensuring that only the main issuesâ"the technological and personnel challengesâ"are mentioned in the introduction, and mentioned in an open-ended way, the writer sustains the readerâs interest: âWhen I contemplated leading a joint ABC Technology and Oracle team to develop a $10.5 million inventory management system for large retailers, I imagined that the problems I would face would be purely technical. While I did encounter a litany of technical obstacles, more significantly, I found that fusing two teams from entirely different cultures presented the greatest challenges to my leadership skills. As I set out to meld 26 individuals into a unified and directed group, I transitioned from a technophile to a manager capable of harnessing the strengths of a culturally and geographically diverse team.â In this example, the first few sentences introduce the reader to the problem, but the final sentence creates an incentive for the reader to continue reading. The reader is left with questions: âHow did the candidate harness these strengths?â âHow did the candidate complete this professional transition?â Unfortunately, there are no simple rules for maintaining the mystery; each writer has to exercise judgment and try to objectively ask him-/herself: âWhat is spurring the reader to learn more?â Share ThisTweet Monday Morning Essay Tips loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-15303819256211664412020-05-25T15:29:00.001-07:002020-05-25T15:29:05.857-07:00The Ted Talk I Watched - 1336 Words Ted Talks Write-Up # 3 I. What four main types of actions involve databases? Briefly discuss each.? 2. What are the responsibilities of the DBA and the database designers? 3. What is the difference between a database schema and a database state? 4. What is the difference between procedural and nonprocedural DMLs? 5. What is the difference between the two-tier and three-tier client/server architectures? Answer: The database is a database system which allows users to maintain their database. There are basically four actions which involved in the database- Define Database Construct Database Manipulate Database Share Database There are the basic actions which are necessary for the database users. Define Database The database definition is to define the database like database structure, database type to store data into database. It is called metadata of the data. Construct Database Construct database is the process in which the data get stored into the database and can be maintained by the DBMS. Manipulate Database Manipulate database is to retrieve database by using query and to insert, update and delete the database also. Share Database Share database is to share database among many users so that more than one user can access database at one time. DBA and the database designer both are responsible for data maintenance and data construction in an organization. Following are some responsibilities of DBA and the database designer- Database Security Design Database Implement Data Models Resolve Capacity Issues Resolve Performance Issues Maintain Database (TechTarget 2015) The database schema is the metadata. It is the initial stage of the database. When the database is defined and implemented first time, only database schema is defined at that time. The database state is the state of the database, which gets changed on every action upon the database. When the database is implemented first time, the database state is null and after inserting data into database, the database state gets changed. The database schema is called intension while the database state is called extension in the database. (GITTA 2006) 4 What is the difference between procedural and nonprocedural DMLs? DML is a data manipulation language. Data manipulation operations are described following- Insertion into database Retrieve database Edit database Delete database Data manipulation language is the most important part of the DBMS. It is supported in all DBMS. There are two types of the data manipulation languages Procedural Data Manipulation Language and Nonprocedural Data Manipulation Language. Procedural Data Manipulation Language Procedural Data Manipulation Language is the language which defines what data needs to be retrieve and it defines the process also; after retrieving the data, another set of data can be retrieved by the same procedure. Nonprocedural Data Manipulation Language Nonprocedural Data Manipulation Language is the language which defines what data needs to be retrieve without specifying the process. (Winstudent 2014) There are two types of the client server architecture- Two-tier architecture Three-tier architecture Two-tier architecture This is the basic type of the client server architecture. Two-tier architecture is generally used in all communication networks. Following figure is describing the process of two-tier architecture- In this the client sends the request to the server for the resources and the server responds directly to the client. The magnitude of brutality, the remorseless cruelty, and the mass murder during the Holocaust are unique. However the root causes of the Holocaust continue. Racial hatred, economic crises, human psychological and moral flaws are still ominously common. Saying this, we must have the courage to remember the Holocaust, no matter how disturbing the memories may be. For only informed, understanding, and morally committed people can prevent such persecution from happening again. There will never be enough remembrance of the Holocaust. To forget about the holocaust is to ignore the tragedies many millions suffered, to bring about a possibility it could be repeated, and to agree with Adolf Hitlers philosophy. "Never think there is an easy way to make an end to such bitter memories...Never think there is a way to forgive the hate in the human heart...or an easy way to believe that the worst has occurred and is past. Only know that hope lives when people remember." (Simon Wiesenthal) The persecution of people is always and everywhere intolerable and to act against it is a beginning for hope. Jewish communities existed continuously in Europe for over 2,000 years. Many of these communities were older than the countries in which they existed. Nevertheless, as the countries of Europe developed, Jews were rarely given complete citizenship status. At best they were tolerated as guests. Their social and religious distinctiveness made them persistent targets for persecution; and such persecution, in turn, intensified the cohesiveness of Jewish communities. Jews were starved, beaten, experimented on, tortured, and killed. They were forced to face an almost certain death. The Jewish people were persecuted for their religion. The different forms of online journalism pertain to forums, discussion boards, epapers, online news boards as well as blogs and RSS feeds. The nature of the medium and the ease of information dissemination on the internet have made it a very competitive field for online journalism. The internet is in fact challenging the traditional form of reporting and journalism as the classified advertising as well as advertisements are shifting to the online medium for newspapers. Aside from this the niche as well as general scope of journalism online makes it much more appealing for readers than the hardcopy based newspapers and magazines. People even consider online journalism to be broader in scope, more informative as compared to those conducted through the traditional medium. There is more freedom of speech online, as official journalists as well as volunteers can provide information on various topic. Aside form this online journalism is also considered to be less biased as compared to the traditional medium for journalism. According to Cohen as per her article in the Journal of Broadcasting and Electronic Media in 2002, online journalism is depicted as a form of journalism which is entirely driven by the market. However, opposition to the benefits of online journalism and its advantages the form of journalism also is considered to be of temporary nature, with the news structure being more random than properly structured. Advantages of Online Journalism As mentioned earlier, the advantage of online journalism pertain to the fact that the online medium is less biased than the traditional medium for journalism, has more information and is more specialized for the niche market of readers. However the most significant benefit that is reported for online journalism is the real time dissemination of information and the immediacy. The publishers in the online medium have the opportunity and the facility to publish news about news and events as it happens. "Other advantages of online journalism relate to other medium-specific characteristics. The incorporation of multimedia elements makes news websites more informative and entertaining. Hyperlinks, blogs and discussion forums allow web-users a more hands on experience, allowing them to be participants in the news process. The archiving ability of news websites is also a great advantage as it provides an extensive research resource to the public." (Rayment, 2004) Other benefits of online journalism also include the positive effect it has on the social and the culture of the people in the regional and global community. Moreover the online news channel is available to the readers twenty four hours a day, seven days a week, making it one of the most accessible medium for disseminating news and opinions. Aside from this the journalism on the online medium also allows the people to access news and opinions which are regional as well as global in nature providing them an increased scope of information and knowledge. The ease and the convenience provided through the online nature of the online journalism is the biggest advantage that is available to readers as well as information publishers in the world of today. This is because people can access epapers as well as forums and new boards loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-16473201974302946432020-02-06T11:17:00.001-08:002020-02-06T11:17:03.309-08:00Hip Hop vs Country & Western Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 wordsHip Hop vs Country & Western - Essay Example Out of these modernized creations, hip hop and country and western were born. Hip hop and country and western music, both of which have become increasingly popular in the past few decades, are two very distinct genres. Reaching out to different crowds, each genre contains unique messages and remarkable ways of representing them. Despite their differences, the two distinguishable genres also have their similarities. Hip hop and country and western touch upon various aspects of life, ranging from love to death and everything in between. While both genres can show the negative and heartbreaking characteristics of love, hip hop might take a harsher perspective while country and western tends to take a more uplifting, positive point of view. Some music critics, including the musicians themselves, argue that hip hop shows the reality of life situations and country and western music reveals what people wish would take place instead in those situations (Palmer, 2005). Hip hop might explain w hat went wrong in a failed relationship, yet country and western will explain the good that might come of the relationship ending. This concept is due to the fact that it is believed that those that listen to hip hop are more seasoned to the hardships of life and those that listen to country and western are more optimistic for things to improve in the future (Palmer). Though each genre has their own unique way of expressing these life events, they both focus on sharing similar stories. Whether it involves a hip hop artist growing up in a tough city or a country and western singer being brought up in a rural area, the songs of these artists reveal what life was like having to deal with social or economic situations, growing up in their varying neighborhoods, love and death, and just simply getting through life in one piece. The sole purpose of the music that these musicians put out is to share with others what life was like for them, and how life continues to be. Similarly, the artis ts of both hip hop and country and western vary with the point of view of their songs. In some songs, the singer may be narrating their own stories, putting themselves at the center of a tale that happened to them or else placing themselves in a scenario that happened to someone that they knew. Yet in other songs, the singers are narrating stories that involved other people in their lives, or even putting into song an event that they obtained from the news. A common occurrence in regard to point of view in both of the genres is the narration of fictional events that happened to fictional characters, which serves the purpose of most fiction stories - to teach a life lesson to the listeners or to reveal something about life to the audience. No matter the story that is being told, how it is being told, or the genre that the story is being told in, hip hop and country and western exist to share these compelling stories and make them known to their audience. Another likeness between hip hop and country and western is that the singers usually have damaged personas (Rausch, 2011; Cusic, 2008). A hip hop artist and a country and western star may have come from completely different backgrounds, but they both could have faced identical issues with violent family members or personal drug and alcohol abuse. Oftentimes, these characteristics are why the musicians chose music as their expressive outlet to begin with, which is usually the basis for many of their songs. Since these musicians, regardless of their genre, sing about events that they struggled through in life, connections are going to be found between the two genres. Its source remained a mystery for many years. In 1786 the amateur painter, Roger Dewhurst recorded in letters to friends, that Indian yellow was an organic substance made from the urine of animals fed on turmeric (Myers, pg 1). Around this time, the English chemist George Field claimed it was made from camel urine. In 1839, J.F.L. Merimee, denied its association with urine in spite of its odor, citing its origin was a shrub called ââ¬Ëmemecylon tinctoriumââ¬â¢ in his book ââ¬ËThe Art of Painting in Oil and Frescoââ¬â¢, In 1886 the Journal of the Society of Arts in London began a systematic inquiry of the pigment, revealing that Indian yellow was manufactured in rural India (in particular in Monghyr, a city in Bengal) from the urine of cattle fed only on mango leaves and water (Finlay, pg 216-217). The collected urine was heated in order to precipitate the yellow matter, then strained, pressed into lumps by hand and dried, producing foul-smelling hard yellow balls of raw pigment, called ââ¬Ëpurreeââ¬â¢ (Mukharji, pg 16-17). European importers would then wash and purify the balls, separating greenish and yellow phases. It is the mango not the urine thats crucial to the color. The colorant is a magnesium salt of an organic acid released by the mango. Chemically it is magnesium euxanthate, the magnesium salt of euxanthic acid. See more: My Writing Process Essay Naturally, the cows that were exploited by this process were extremely undernourished. In part because mango leaves did not supply the cattle with sufficient nutrients along with the fact that these leaves contain the toxin urushiol, also found in poison ivy. In 1908, British law (which applied to colonized India) prohibited the production of Indian yellow, citing the torture of sacred animals. The pigment is believed to have first been used in Europe by Dutch artists in the 17th century (the Dutch having extensive trading links with India by then) and by the end of the 18th century across Europe in watercolor and oil painting. For the first years of its introduction in the European market, this pigment was simply named after its country of origin, ââ¬ËPurà ©e of Indiaââ¬â¢(Finlay, pg 209-211). This was further simplified to ââ¬Ëjaune indienââ¬â¢ (French), ââ¬Ëgiallo indianoââ¬â¢ (Italian), ââ¬ËIndischgelbââ¬â¢ (German) or ââ¬ËIndian Yellowââ¬â¢ when tr anslated into other languages (Myers, pg 1). Deep, clear and luminescent, it was favored for its great body and depth of tone. It had a peculiar characteristic in its watercolor form of fading in artificial light and in the dark but being fairly stable in direct sunlight. In its oil form, it requires one hundred percent for grinding, dries slowly, and the addition of varnish improves its drying, in fact its lightfastness is also improved when it is isolated between layers of varnish. Dutch and Flemish painters of the 17th and 18th centuries favored it for its translucent qualities often using it to represent sunlight. Beautiful as the color is, the pigment was said to be foul-smelling in its raw form. In the novel ââ¬ËGirl With the Pearl Earringââ¬â¢ Vermeers patron remarks that Vermeer used cow piss to paint his wife, the pigment referred to was Indian Yellow. By the early twentieth century the pigment was no longer available, although its modern substitutes are still sold under the name Indian yellow. Bibliography 1. The story is set in the late nineteenth century in central London. At the time London was a dark place, were a series of gruesome crimes had taken place, although it was the largest city and richest in the entire world, it contained extremes of wealth and poverty, it was almost as if there was a dividing line, as if was London two different worlds in one city. One side was wealthy and the residents were well mannered, the other side was dirty and mucky, Stevenson used this to help us understand the idea of one person with two sides one good and one bad in the novel. The novel is both horror and mystery, as we don't know who Hyde is or how Jekyll and Hyde are connected. Having all these unanswered questions makes it mysterious. It is also a horror as we read about this evil man Hyde trampling over a young girl and brutally murdering an innocent man. Stevenson's purpose is to show the duality of human nature; the dividing self, that there are different sides to everybody. No one is totally innocent everybody has good and evil inside of them. In chapter one Utterson and Enfield are walking one afternoon and they pass a door and Enfield starts to tell a story about this door and how Hyde trampled over a young girl then used this door to enter and come out with a cheque for the girl's family. We hear a lot about this door from Enfield. This door is described as an odd door for around this place in London having windows and the wall around it was said to be "di... ...the evil side of a person in the duality of nature. In chapter four a maid witnesses Hyde murdering the wealthy sir Danvers Carew, the weapon used to kill him is recognized by Utterson as Dr Jekylls and as the police investigate they find a burnt cheque book of Jekylls. The violent description of the murder helps us to understand and see who the real murderer is and how evil he is, and what Hyde is really capable of. "She was surprised to recognize him as a certain Mr. Hyde", this shows Hyde is known to many people around. We get to see the duality of nature in Utterson which we haven seen before, as he shows his hate for Hyde by taking the police to his house in Soho. Showing he is also has evil within him. In this chapter we also see how evil Hyde actually is by how he brutally murder sir Danvers Carew. loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-32191198609449791972020-01-12T12:45:00.001-08:002020-01-12T12:45:04.831-08:00Communicating in Forums – Anthony’s DilemmaCommunicating In Forums ââ¬â Anthony's Dilemma Carla Landes Gen/105 September 25, 2011 Arianne P. Bellizaire Communicating In Forums ââ¬â Anthony's Dilemma To me, it is very important when speaking in class forums that I choose my inclusive phrasing well. One should never make assumptions when communicating in forums and phrase comments as if in a ââ¬Å"professionalâ⬠setting. When posting most of my responses to discussion questions, I try to address a specific person and usually not the entire class and base my response accordingly. The first error that I feel Anthony made in his response to the class was ââ¬Å"Hi guys. â⬠It appears in the phrasing of his greeting that Anthony assumed the class was all male. Although, this does appear somewhat sexist, I however would not take offense to this type of greeting per say as it is typically a gender-friendly greeting. I do feel that the rest of Anthony's response regarding his experience at the company conference was quite sexist, namely, how Anthony was surprised that the female or ââ¬Å"ladyâ⬠as he called her had ââ¬Å"many good thingsâ⬠to say.I personally would not have mentioned the gender of the speaker, but just referred to the ââ¬Å"speakerâ⬠at the conference. Most of Anthony's discussion response focuses more in context with males attending this conference just by using some of his descriptive phrases such as ââ¬Å"the good ole boysâ⬠and only mentioned the male managers, which would lead one to assume there were no female managers present. Anthony should have used language such as ââ¬Å"Hi Classâ⬠or Hi All. â⬠Also, Anthony could have been more inclusive with his descriptions of the managers, such as, ââ¬Å"The managers and their families.I would think that Anthony's concern over not offending anyone to me shows that had he had a face-to-face conversation in the same language, the response may not have been interpreted as sexist. Anthony could hav e clarified himself differently in his response. In conclusion, Anthony's response was non-inclusive language and phrasing. His first mistake and my instruction to Anthony would be never rush when communicating in a group forum. Instead of rushing through the assignment, Anthony should have waited to post his response. Choose phrasing very carefully and leave opinions and emotions out of the post. loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-76603933886893505732020-01-04T09:09:00.001-08:002020-01-04T09:09:03.871-08:00Shrimp Treadmill - How Much it Cost Taxpayers The famous shrimp treadmill study (video), conducted by researchers at Pacific University and College of Charleston, came under scrutiny during debates over the federal deficit and wasteful spending in 2011. Yes, the shrimp treadmill research cost taxpayers more than $3 million over the course of a decade. That includes a $559,681 grant for research into Impaired Metabolism and Performance in Crustaceans Exposed to Bacteria. But dont blame Congress, as the AARP did in a major television ad buy in 2011. The decision to fund the research actually came from the National Science Foundation. Shrimp Treadmill Grilled The AARP suggested the shrimp treadmill was but one of many examples of wasteful spending in a commercial it ran in the spring and summer of 2011, as Congress debated ways to trim the nations debt. The ad read: If Congress really wants to balance the budget, they could stop spending our money on things like a cotton institute in Brazil, poetry at zoos, treadmills for shrimp. But instead of cutting waste or closing tax loopholes, next month Congress could make a deal that cuts Medicare, even Social Security. I guess its easier to cut the benefits we earned than to cut pickle technology. AARP was not the first to cast the shrimp treadmill in a harsh light, though. About the Shrimp Treadmill Study The shrimp treadmill and National Science Foundation were initially targeted as an example of pork by U.S. Sen. Tom Coburn of Oklahoma in 2011, though the research had begun years earlier. As a practicing physician and a two-time cancer survivor, I have a very personal appreciation for the benefits of scientific research, Coburn wrote in a report titled The National Science Foundation: Under the Microscope. Investing in innovation and discovery can transform and improve our lives, advance our understanding of the world, and create meaningful new jobs. He added, though: The theory in Washington all too often tends to be if you throw enough money at a problem, you can solve all our nations problems. But when Congress commits the nation to significant increases in spending, Congress owes it to the U.S. taxpayers to pay careful attention to how those dollars are being spent. Researchers developed the shrimp treadmill to test whether sickness would impair the mobility of the crustaceans. It remained unclear, however, what the practical impact of such research would be. Sick shrimp have more limited mobility, which may mean they are less likely to avoid being eaten. A decrease in performance may mean the difference between life and death, Scholnick was quoted as saying. About the National Science Foundation The National Science Foundation (NSF) is an independent federal agency created by Congress in 1950 to promote the progress of science; to advance the national health, prosperity, and welfare; to secure the national defenseâ⬠¦ Under its congressional mandate, the NSF funds fundamental research and education in all fields of science and engineering. With a budget of just over $7.5 billion in fiscal year 2017, the NSF funds about a fifth of all federally supported basic research conducted at U.S. colleges and universities. NSF funding for research is distributed through grants, and cooperative agreements to more than 2,000 colleges, universities, K-12 school systems, businesses, informal science organizations and other research organizations throughout the United States. Of the more than 48,000 competitive requests for funding it receives every year, the NSF awards about 12,000 new research grants. At the time, the NSF responded to Sen. Coburns criticism of the ââ¬Å"Shrimp on a Treadmillâ⬠study by pointing out that the projects it funds have advanced the frontiers of science and engineering, improved Americans lives and provided the foundations for countless new industries and jobs. About the National Institutes of Health As another major source of congressionally authorized research funding, the National Institutes of Health (NIH), agency of the cabinet-level U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), bills itself as nationââ¬â¢s medical research agency. Currently, the NIH awards nearly $32.3billion in grants annually for medical research in support of its stated mission of seeking ââ¬Å"fundamental knowledge about the nature and behavior of living systems and the application of that knowledge to enhance health, lengthen life, and reduce illness and disability.â⬠Almost 50,000 research studies funded by NIH grants are being conducted by over 300,000 researchers at more than 2,500 universities, medical schools, and other research institutions in every state and around the world. loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-45664223086827193272019-12-27T05:35:00.001-08:002019-12-27T05:35:04.094-08:00Links Between Organisation Structure and Culture - Free Essay Example Sample details Pages: 4 Words: 1131 Downloads: 6 Date added: 2017/06/26 Category Business Essay Type Analytical essay Did you like this example? The researcher found that the business was lacking in terms of putting in place the necessary approach to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the business and that the business has failed to employ any organizational theory to assist in management practices. The researcher recommends that the business utilize the organizational theory in carrying out management duties by the owner of the business so as to facilitate better and improved operations within the business and implement the use of systems approach in dealing with customer orders by putting in place a computer system where customers can make their orders online instead of having to come to the business. The researcher concludes that understanding and using management approaches and applying the appropriate leadership style can impact an organization greatly in terms of achieving success and increased productivity. Analysis and Findings LO2 Understand the different approaches to management and leadership 2.1 Compare the effectiveness of different leadership styles in different organizations There are various leadership styles present within different organizations that can have positive or negative effects on organizations. According to Mind Tools (2014) the three common types of leadership styles are autocratic leaders, democratic leaders, laisser-faire leaders. The autocratic leadership style in a small business operation would be effective in that the decisions made ensures that workers follow a certain line and order and delegates who is in charge thereby allowing smooth operation of the organization. However, in an organization such as a cooperative or a company where democratic leadership style is utilized proves to be effective as it ascertains high productivity and high job satisfaction due to the fact that feedback is given to the leader from interaction with customers and that the employees are included in the decision making process. On the other hand leaders who take on a laisser-faire style may see high productivity as it allows employees to be creative in their work although time management can be an issue if neglected putting the business at risk. Sumciouz Pastry has a democratic style of leadership that allows both the customers and employees to assist in the decision making which has proven to be effective in improving the business operations however; the involvement of customers and employees is to a less extent due to the time in which certain decisions have to be made. 2.2 Explain how organizational theory underpins the practice of management Organizational theory refers to the different ways in which an organization goes about managing its employees and the organization on a whole to achieve its objectives. The theory used by an organization will depend on how it intends to accomplish it goals hence the theory can be goal theory, scientific management theory where management seeks to find the best and easiest way for employees to carry out their tasks and eliminate wastes. The business has not employed any direct organizational theory should they do so in the future the researcher would recommend the use of the scientific management theory. 2.3 Evaluate the different approaches to management used by different organizations According to Cheriam (2013) à ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã
âbureaucratic approach, Administrative approach, scientific approachà ¢Ã¢â ¬Ã are the approaches to management within organizations. However, there are behavioural approach, quantitative approach that deals with figures and so forth as well as the most recent approach of total quality management where employers or mangers encourage employees to see the product or service they are offering as one so as to ensure that quality is maintained. A manufacturing company may use the TQM approach as they are dealing with goods so as to ensure quality products are made. Sumciouz Pastry owner of the business being that there is no managers engages the scientific approach but is aiming to adapt the systems approach to a lesser extent in the near future so as to deal more effectively with customer orders. Recommendations The researcher would like to suggest the following recommendations of which are: To utilize the organizational theory in carrying out management duties by the owner of the business so as to facilitate better and improved operations within the business. To encourage the implementation of systems approach in dealing with customer orders by putting in place a computer system where customers can make their orders online instead of having to come to the business. Conclusion The researcher has concluded that management approaches and the different leadership styles if applied to the correct situation or organization can be beneficial to employees and the organization alike in that it aids in effective leadership as well as successful running of the organization. The different approaches range from bureaucratic to scientific approaches whereas the leadership styles involves autocratic, laisser-faire and autocratic among others. The business has employed the democratic leadership style that includes the involvement of employees and customers. However the business has been lacking in its approach to make the operations more efficient nonetheless measures will be implemented to ensure that efficiency is improved and maintained so as to ensure success of the business on a whole as well as employees in carrying out their different tasks. Answer: Introduction The provision of psychological care and an idea of recovery from the mental illness have endured significant tests on an international level in latest decades due to the impact of active user drive. A critiquing and questioning of the recovery meaning underpins the call for change (Casher, 2013, pp. 182). Old-fashioned analysis of recovery is being confronted as user opinions have been conveyed to the forefront (Beckett et al., 2013, pp.595). The paper concentrates in discovering concept of the mental health illness and lived experience. Additionally, it looks at the main ideas in respect to the national framework for recovery-oriented mental health service. Finally, examples from the lived experiences of sandy Jeff will be drawn throughout the paper The concepts of lived experience The out-of-date tactic to emotional wellbeing care indicates that recovery from the psychological ailment is only conceivable through elimination or lessening clinical systems. The users versions of lived experience of mental syndrome beg to diverge (Byrne et al., 2015, pp. 935). A recovery method is one that is established on user lived experience and not simply gauged within the technical model. Therefore, it provides considerable concerns about the customary biomedical plans and has produced a linguistic of psychological recovery centred on the identity, optimism and meaning-making (Bracken, 2014, pp. 241). A biomedical strategy establishes professional and knowledge with health providers while the users are seen as inactive recipient of cure. However, the recovery tactic defies this idea affirming that users are specialists by experience and should be recognized as equal associates in the treatment or controlling of mental well-being state (Cleary et al., 2013, pp.205). Parker (2 014) argues that it is essential to hear consumers accounts of skills so as to efficiently control a psychological health difficult and to guarantee social justice (pp.28). The term experience currently occupies a vital place in official papers prescribing great exercise of mental health attention. In Australia health ministers advisory council document, national mental health recovery framework: guide for the practitioners and providers (2013b), lived experienced is explained as the heart of the heath structure declaring that focus on the lived experience proposes a novel and transformative theoretical context for the service and practice delivery (pp.7). The inclusion of the user lived knowledge and its duty as the heart of policy and practice structures build a change in the epistemological base, intrinsic in the outdated delivery of mental health facilities with considerable consequences for the service scheme and medical operations (Bell, 2014, pp.165). The connection between lived experience and social justice as noted by the Parker (2014) is further explained by the Flicker (2013) arguing that procedure of devaluing of marginalised sets idea by more influential assembly result in an incomplete information base or epistemic loss. Encompassed in the earlier definitions of the lived experience from the national mental health recovery framework is the acknowledgment of the model being used to those other than person essentially encountering the psychological disorder or illness (Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council, 2013b). The ideas recognise the knowledge people have on another regarding the mental issues. Debates arise about the notion of survived experience as some scholars have seen the enclosure of the experience of other users, particularly that of a health professional, as assuming the recovery concepts away from its central customer attention (Byrne et al., 2015, pp. pp. 936). The concept of the recovery of mental illness From the viewpoint of a person with the psychological disorder, recovery denotes acquiring and upholding confidence, comprehending of one's capabilities and incapacities, commitment in a lively life, social identity, individual autonomy, positive sense of self, and meaning and purpose in life. It is crucial to recall that recovery is not identical with treatment. Improvement defines internal settings experienced by an individual who explains themselves as being in the recovery: healing, empowerment, hope and linkage (Jacob et al., 2015, pp. 5). An external circumstance that facilitates recovery includes the positive culture of curing, enactment of human right and recovery-oriented facilities. The concepts of healing focused on mental health care to ensure that services are being provided by a method that aids the psychological health retrieval of the users (Hyde, 2013, pp.44). First, the distinctiveness of an individual: recovery concerned with mental health practices recognise that improvement is not considered about treatment but having opportunism for the selection and living a significant life, sustaining and specific experience and being a valued affiliate of the society. Real choices are another practice of recovery-oriented mental health. Attitudes and privileges include listening and enlightening from acting upon communication from the individuals and their careers. It stimulates and defends individuals legitimate, nationality and civil rights. Self-respect and esteem in mental health training consist of being courteous, honest and cautious in all relations. Finally, it contests stigma and discrimination whenever it happens within own amenities and community at large. Conglomerate and communication is also part of the recovery health operations as it allows each person to be proficient in their existence (Hyde et al., 2014, pp.8). Repossession comprises operating in collaboration with a person to offer aid in such a way that it makes logic to them. Additionally, it prices the necessities of distributing the pertinent data and the need to communicate appropriately to assist adequate supervision. Finally, the evaluation recovery is crucial in the mental health practice. It enables and ensures continued evaluation of improvement based method at numerous phases. Person and their caregivers can track their progress. The psychological health structure reports on the primary results; that indicates recovery consisting of education, social and family relationships, employment, and housing (Bland et al., 2015, pp. 43). Main ideas from national framework Conferring to the national framework for recovery-oriented mental health services, the inpatient situation grasps a vital position in the range of the psychological health provision (Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council, 2013b). However, there is an active call for the change from hospital care to ambulatory services that is expressed in Australia state government papers (NSW Mental health commission 2014; the government of Western Australia health commission n.d). It is not unusual that inquiry on the mental recovery inclines to concentrate on communal experiences to enlighten the progress of more modern structures of care. Australia study by (McKenna at al., 2014) offers a narrative of service provision in a safer inpatient psychological health facility that struggles to be recovery-oriented. In the study, the consumers, care and staff are joined to offer a descriptive case study of recovery-concentrated care. The documents frameworks try to define what entails the lived-e xperience concept. In the record, lived encounters is described as the experience individuals have like a distinct or on others mental health illness, emotional anguish, living with or recovering from, the consequences and impacts of the person or others (pp.79) The documents are planned to stipulate a state comprehension and method to recovery-oriented psychological health practice and service delivery (Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council, 2013b, pp.8). The drive is to support the doctors to bring into line their training with recovery ideologies, appraisal the present ability mix of the mental health staff ((Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council, 2013b, pp. 9). In the document the issue of the lived experience takes the center stage, described as the heart of the recovery-oriented philosophy (Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council, 2013b, pp.2). Additionally, the national government have guided and informed various federal documents that remain to be generated; revised and modernised such has (NSW mental health commission 2014). Case study Sandy Jeff is an example of lived experienced of mental illness. Sandy is woman who has lived with schizophrenia for over thirty five years (George, n.d). During the period of mental illness, she explains about experiencing lost hope, no purpose in life and meaningfulness existence (George, n.d). She narrates how people will not employ one because one is mentally ill, people will look down upon another and they will subject one to the stigmatization. The woman proposes that community should support people with mental illness so as to reduce the stigmatization (George, n.d). Additionally, she argues that mentally ill people should not only get dose but a meaningful one. She adds that community should start giving the people the right support and opportunity. On her work flying with paper wing: reflections on living with madness, she narrates how the society views the mental ill person and mental health facilities. According to the author, the word sanity has one word but the word for madness as 17, 000 meaning (Jeff, n.d). For example, she says being insane, I suffer from mental illness, brain damage, unsound mind, hallucinations, lunacy, mental derangement, mental instability, mental imbalance, imbecility, nervous breakdown.., (Jeff, n.d). She continues on the community perceptions of the mental care amenities. She claims the world I live in refers to metal health amenities as: madhouse, mental houses, mental hospice, asylum.., (Jeff, n.d). Sandy narrates she has tried to end her life, but she keeps going for the sake of the friends, public work and to feel connected with world. The capacity of Jeff to write with humour and honor about the realities of living with schizophrenia touches the lives of many (Littrell, 2014, pp. 365). In the Poetry recital from sandy Jeff medicated, she recounts how complicated was the process of hospitalisation accompanied by several medications and loneliness (Jeff, 2015). Conclusion Apparently, personal and clinical recovery has the similar objective. But, recovery is challenging to explain as it is different for each user. It is necessary for the healthcare providers to comprehend the difference and try to join the whole objective for the benefits of patients. There is a probability that those lived experience of mental illness have faced social isolation, loss of self-identity and stigmatisation as Sandy narrates. For the professional to avert the menace, all the healthcare expertise should be cautious to the desires of the consumer with survived experience and work collaboratively with their careers towards full recovery. Existing in a better life is a meaningful objective for all the individuals, whatsoever the skills and circumstances. References Australian Health Ministers' Advisory Council. I think Penelope and Telemachus were honest and Odysseus was not because he slept with a lot of women such as Circe and calypso. I believe Penelope was loyal, even though there were suitors that were trying to convince her to marry them. On the other side, Telemachus had hope that his father would return. All of these qualities are hero like. Penelope was the hero of the odyssey because she was true to her husband in spite of compelling reasons to give him up. She managed to raise her son by herself. She was loyal and devoted to her husband because the suitors tried offer her many things such as ship full of gold, ships and food her but she refused the offer. She is a good house wife because she can weave. She is believed to be one of the most beautiful women ever. Not only Penelope is beautiful and talented, she is also clever, although usually its Odysseus who is said to be clever or cunning. But at night, while theyre all sleeping it off, she stays up late; ripping out everything she wove during the daylight hours. So she makes very little progress on this weaving! And theyre too dull to notice. I think Telemachus has remained hopeful because he think that hes is still alive. One key trait that Telemachus shows is hope towards his fathers life, and his mothers love for his father. No, please, I need the boat, my father is still alive, I know it, and he really is. (Book XVIII, 212) This just shows his hope towards his father, and how he tried to persuade his fellow Ithacans to give him a boat to go out and search for his father. Another skill that Telemachus has, is courage, which he shows specifically when he tries to defend his father. The extraordinarily interesting fact about his courage is that he is a smaller man, so despite the fact that he cannot defend himself from the suitors, he still manages to stand up for him and his father. Telemachus is much matured; however he is a normal teenager like us. I admire Telemachus for this, and I just hope that I can have that kind of hope throughout my life, as he did throughout his. I like Penelope because the She managed to trick the suitors and I like her because she is loyal person. I believe Penelopes greatest strength was loyalty. I think Telemachuss was courageous and brave. This assignment can clear out the doubts about who are the true heroes of odyssey. loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-45380990280215468422019-11-27T13:34:00.001-08:002019-11-27T13:34:03.218-08:00Army Cadets at Newcastle Under Lyme School Essay ExampleArmy Cadets at Newcastle Under Lyme School Essay Army Cadets at Newcastle Under Lyme School often use their .22 ranges and find it extremely hard to see what their shoot total is mid-way through the shoot. The 13.2mm displays are to be used to display the shooters statistics and the 100mm displays are to be used to display the shooters overall score. They need to be this size as to let the shooter se his or her score with great ease.à The size of this product is unknown at this stage but this will be mentioned in the specifications. The product will not however be any larger than a piece of A4 paper which measures at approximately 290mm x 210mm.à This product is to be powered by a 9v battery as it does not require a power input of a mains connection which is 230v ~ 240v ac. The 9v power supply should be sufficient in providing power for the seven segment displays in relation to how often the product is to be used, therefore giving providing a good battery life. There is a number of different sized pressure pads to be used as they will then be able to determine the score of the shots fired. By this I mean that the smallest pressure pad will be able to show a score which is the highest score etc.à Ease of fitting is to be required as the primary users of this product are to be cadets aged between 13 and 18 who may or may not have a sufficient technological knowledge, therefore a means needs to be devised by which this product can be fixed securely to a wall with great ease. To be able to make this product worthy of sale it will have to be extremely reliable. There are three initial areas of production, which will make this a reliable product. They are having a strong casing, having a waterproof casing the electronics it contains. The casing has to be fairly strong as to prevent any breakage of the product even before it has been placed securely on the wall. A water-resistant casing is required as to eliminate the threat of any moisture actually damaging the circuitry within the product. The final aspect is the electronics its will contain. These have to be accurate as to prevent failure of operation by the product. For the electronics not to fail I will have to carefully plan the circuitry to a degree where I will have to distinguish what the inputs, processings outputs of the circuit are. Once these three areas are complete to a great degree of satisfaction, the product will be much more reliable than I did not take these into consideration.à The pressure pads will have to be able to sense the force of the rounds fired to it but the pressure pads will have to be placed in a manner in which the pressure pads do not get damaged during the shoot. They will be feeling the force of .22 rounds and therefore it will be relatively easy for me to avert such an incident where the pressure pads are damaged, as only a small thickness of wood is required to penetrate the rounds, which is used by the cadets to penetrate the .22 rounds. loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-5059549150670528432019-11-23T21:08:00.001-08:002019-11-23T21:08:02.517-08:00Essay 2 1984 Final DraftEssay 2 1984 Final Draft Essay 2 1984 Final Draft Kelly Hall Professor Walter English 210 10 November 2014 The Dangers of Totalitarianism In George Orwellââ¬â¢s Ninteen Eighty-Four, all the citizens of Oceania live under the rule of a totalitarianistic government who is in complete control of their thoughts and actions. In this novel George Orwell tells a fictional story of a totalitiarinistic society, where the citizens of Oceania are under the complete control of the Party, and continually manipulated to know and do only what Big Brother wishes them to. In a study performed by Lupia and Menning it was concluded that ââ¬Å"Fear affects politicsâ⬠(103). Fear and power have been proven to be powerful tools of manipulation in any society; George Orwellââ¬â¢s Nineteen Eighty-Four, demonstrates this claim with many striking similarities to another infamous totalitarian government under the rule of Nazi Germany in 1933. Through the close analysis of the novelââ¬â¢s protagonist, Winston, the reader is able to see how Orwell projects his thoughts and views to remind readers just how dangerous totalitariani sm is. These dangers include lack of individualism and freedom as well as lack of societal development and economic progress. Lastly, totalitarianism in Orwellââ¬â¢s Nineteen Eighty-Four causes most of society to live in poverty. ââ¬Å"Totalitarian government is government by a dictator, operating through and with a single political party which comprises a minority, usually a small minority of the nation, but which is more or less hand-picked severely disciplined, and equipped with a monopoly of the means of influencing public opinion and enforcing the will of the governmentâ⬠(Hayes 21). Orwellââ¬â¢s Nineteen Eighty-Four depicts this scenario very well. Through Winstonââ¬â¢s eyes the reader learns about the society of Oceania. There is only one political party, the Inner Party, of which its members are hand selected and controlled by Big Brother. The Inner Party is a very small percentage of Oceaniaââ¬â¢s population, the majority of the population is the ââ¬Å"prolesâ⬠or the lower class. One of the many dangers of totalitarianism is that it causes a complete lack of individuality and freedom. Winston demonstrates throughout the story the lack of individualism that is demanded from the citizens of Oceania in many ways. In the opening scenes we see Winston begin to rebel against Big Brother by writing in a journal, which is strictly prohibited against by Big Brother. However, away from the prying eyes of the telescreen, Winston begins to journal. Initially Winston is unable to write, he lacks individual thought to put down on paper. Winston had thought about writing for weeks but then when it came right down he was unable to come up with anything to write. ââ¬Å"For some time he sat gazing stupidly at the paperâ⬠(Orwell 10). Eventually Winston found much to write about, the progression of Winstonââ¬â¢s writing gives a clear understanding why writing is prohibited. As Winstonââ¬â¢s character progresses he begins to write, Winston remembers more and m ore of his past and then he begins to have individual thoughts and feelings. Orwell understood that conformity is an essential part of a totalitarian society, with conformity no citizen is able to have, or display, their own unique thoughts or ideas. This is also why reading any book not first deemed appropriate by the Inner Party is prohibited. While the uniformity of society seen in Nineteen Eighty-Four is not as drastic as the elimination of an entire minority as we saw during Nazi Germany, still all citizens of Ocenaia were groomed to look the same wearing ââ¬Å"blue overalls which were the uniform of the partâ⬠(Orwell, 4). They were also forced to think the same, and act the same. The danger of conformity to create a totalitarian society seems like a far off concept to those of us enjoying democracy; however, around the world in many other countries we see socialism as well as many past totalitarian societies in which dictators were able to create conformity. loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4162390072537114991.post-497409878308245742019-11-21T05:51:00.001-08:002019-11-21T05:51:06.251-08:00Physics assignment Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 wordsPhysics assignment - Essay Example The air opposing the spinning ball causes different air friction at different sides of the ball depending upon the direction of rotation. Due to differing air action on two sides the ball curves towards one side, if a ball is rotating anti-clockwise, the air on its right side causes more impedance because of the ball surface moving against the wind, than on its left side. This is moving in the direction of the wind hence causing the ball to curve towards left. Ball A will travel longer in the air. It happens because the smoothness of the ball causes the air to curve around its surface without creating a lot of resistance during its motion, thus the air drag is low, where as ball B will travel shorter in the air. This is due to the rough surface of the ball that will act as small pockets to the air that is curving around the ball, hence causing air friction on it. This will reduce the energy of ball B greatly. The ball B hence, will travel a shorter distance compared to the Ball A. The S waves travel perpendicular to the direction of the vibration, where as the P waves travel in a direction parallel to the oscillations of the particles. The P waves travel with twice the speed of S waves. The P waves travel in forms of compression and rarefaction zones whereas the S waves travel in form of ripples. The P waves starts forming much earlier than the S loralynch1975http://www.blogger.com/profile/03842662906839855240noreply@blogger.com0
